Queensland’s coveted A List 2017 revealed

THE only real estate industry award that everyone wants but agents cannot nominate for has finally been revealed.

The sales data has been crunched and Queensland’s coveted A List can finally be unveiled for the fifth year.  The A List is determined purely on sales which reveals the top 150 performers in the state across all markets in Brisbane and regional centres.

Sponsored by Mercedes Benz Brisbane, the A List is determined by sales data scrutinised by Pricefinder analysts.  Pricefinder data found one in eight properties in Queensland were sold by an A Lister in 2016.

A List awards spokesperson Ashleigh Molden thanked Mercedes Benz Brisbane and Pricefinder for their support of these awards to find the best of the best agents in Queensland.

“There’s lots of awards in the real estate industry but the A List stands head and shoulders above any other award as it compares agents from all agency groups using their sales data. You cannot nominate for this award,” Ms Molden said. “Without Mercedes Benz Brisbane and Pricefinder, we wouldn’t have these awards called the A List. We’re so appreciative of their ongoing support,” she said.

The A List initiative was established five years ago by the biggest property group in Australasia, the Ray White Group, but the data is sourced and verified by Pricefinder. Ray White Queensland chief executive officer Tony Warland said he was happy to align with Mercedes Benz Brisbane for the A List.

“It’s a pleasure to have the support of Mercedes Benz Brisbane, as they stand for nothing but the best. So it’s a natural fit for the A List. It’s good for everyone in the property market to know where they all stand against each other,” Mr Warland said.

“These awards create a level playing field and I congratulate each agent who made the A List in 2017.

“Whether you made the list for the first time or the fifth time, it’s a remarkable achievement and something to be recognised and celebrated.”

The list of 150 agents is spread across every market of Queensland using sales data from the 16,500 registered salespeople based on three criteria; number of sales, value of sales and the number of listings for the previous calendar year. This award is only open to salespeople not business owners or principals.

Lyndon Maher, director of product management at Domain Group, said now more than ever high performing agents were differentiating and succeeding through the better use of data.

“Pricefinder’s leading property intelligence platform and app gives agents the tools to monitor their market at large, while having targeted insights that assist their clients to make some of the most highly informed decisions of their lives,” Mr Maher said.

“We are proud to be the official data provider for this year’s A List. Congratulations to the winners,” he said.

Pricefinder insights show the A Listers make up just 2.2 per cent of all active agents but they sold 12.4 per cent of all Queensland properties in 2016.

The data also showed the average salesperson in Queensland made seven sales in 2016 but the A Listers averaged 45 sales during the year.

The average sales person in Queensland had a total sales value of $3.6 million but A-Listers averaged a total sales value of $23 million during the year.

And if you put all 150 A List salespeople together they made 6831 sales, worth a combined total value of $3.4 billion of property sold in 2016.

Harcourts Kingsberry Townsville agent Julie Mahoney has been consistently named on the list since it launched in 2013 which shows her sales strength.

Likewise, Nyree Ewings of LJ Hooker at Cleveland, Judi O’Dea of SPACE Property Agents Paddington, Sam Guo of Ray White Broadbeach, Dion Saab of Coronis Bracken Ridge, Vicki Hodges of PRDnationwide Bundaberg, Jane Doogan of LJ Hooker Nerang plus Judy Eddy of Action Realty have all yet again been named on the coveted list for five years in a row.

All 150 agents on the A List will gather together on 21 November 2017 in Brisbane for a day long event tailored to not only recognise the industry’s leaders, but also provide a platform of learning and thought leadership through keynote speakers.
